The department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy, of Kursk State Medical University, incorporates teachers and young researchers in the conduction of numerous studies into the field of “experimental implantology”. The primary focus of these studies being absorbable polymer and non-absorbable implants, in the form of gels, sponges and membranes; as well as sutures and implants for the restoration of the abdominal wall and great vessels. Our scope of interest extends to to cover the implantation of a variety of metal structures, with regard to the areas of traumatology, dentistry, and maxillofacial surgery. An integral aspect of our research is its conduction under the cooperation of various institutions, including universities and companies associated with the manufacturing of medical devices and drugs.
We welcome active cooperation in the joint generation and development of scientific and experimental research. Our university has constructed a sizeable experimental research base, with a wide range of possibilities in research (including experimental operations, vivarium, morphological, biochemical and immunological laboratories, highly skilled consultants etc.). Our central objective is to determine the indication for the utilisation of new medical products, based on their properties and the manipulations involved. Our facilities enable extensive “in vitro” studies of the afore mentioned properties, following all know methods in the modelling of a wide variety of diseases and injuries to obtain truly invaluable results.
Currently we have accumulated a large quantity of unpublished data in the field of experimental medicine. Dear Colleagues, we have the honour of inviting you to participate as co-editors in the publication of scientific articles, through the adaptation of these texts to follow the traditions of professional vocabulary in the english language.
We enthusiastically await your replies; and should you be interested in our offer, are ready to discuss the strategy and tactics of our cooperation.
Kind regards,
Professor Viacheslav A. Lipatov MD
